Research Focus

Cliff is responsible for identifying new ways of generating client value and ensuring that the company produces highly relevant research for Forrester's clients. As part of this remit, Cliff works to identify better business processes and tools for the analysts to use to keep them highly connected to the marketplace. At this time, many of his activities are associated with Forrester's move to social media tools. He has crafted the company's social media policy for employees, led the creation of Forrester's blog platform, and has launched Forrester's first role communities. Additionally, he works closely with the analysts to determine how to use these tools to enhance the research we produce for clients.

Cliff joined Forrester in 1997 as an analyst covering retail financial services. In 1998, he began managing teams of analysts. That same year, he moved to Amsterdam — where he's still based — to build a European research organization for the company. Most recently, Cliff was head of research for the marketing and strategy client group, managing a research team of more than 100 staff members globally. The team focused on research to make marketing professionals more successful in their jobs. Cliff was responsible for a research agenda and product offering developed specifically for marketing leadership executives, interactive marketers, client insight professionals, Customer Experience professionals, consumer product strategists, and eBusiness managers. His team researched; created; and analyzed market forecasts, best practices, case studies, ROI tools, and market strategies for Forrester's global clients.

Previous Work Experience

Before joining Forrester, Cliff held high-level positions at leading firms such as NationsBank (now Bank of America), where he had P&L responsibility for the bank's nationwide network of 5,400 automated teller machines and other self-service delivery devices. In his role, he developed product functionality, determined the distribution strategy, and managed the cost structure. He was also involved in the integration of nine banking acquisitions during his time at NationsBank.

Education

Cliff received a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in marketing from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Marquette University.
